Connecting chromebook to projector

I need to connect my hp chromebook to my cibest projector for video output. The projector has an HDMI port and my chromebook has usb and usb-c ports, i've ordered adapters for both to connect to HDMI, but neither worked for video. The usb-c did sound output but not video, and the USB adapter didnt even register with the projector. I know the projector should work somehow, help!
