They should just pretty much work. Of course you will need to install Windows on the SATA drive or copy it over and maybe provide a SATA driver for Windows to recognise the drive.
Your IDE drives can remain configured as they were if they worked. The SATA drive connects into its own controller and does not have any jumper settings for Master and Slave.
I guess you should make sure the SATA controller is enabled in the BIOS or with a jumper. Then add it into the boot order so it is before the IDE drives(you can remove the IDE drives from the boot order completely).
