Ok Let me explain this as well as I can. I do not have any info about my computer on me its all at home and I'm at work at the moment. Just trying to figure out my problem. Ok here is the problem. A few nights ago my boyfriend said the computer had a blue screen but he didn't get to it in time and the computer shut off. He tried to reboot it and nothing, only the fans run but nothing on the screen. So I thought it was my monitor. I just bought the monitor the end of February. I checked out the monitor cables. I unplugged it from the computer and just plugged it into the wall to see if I have power and the "default" message popped up and said unplugged cable. Which obviously cuz its not plugged into the computer. So I plugged this back into the computer and tried to boot up again. Still nothing. I opened up the tower. Checked to make sure the board didn't look fried or anything lose. Everything looks in tact. I checked every wire to make sure its sitting in place. My instincts tell me its the motherboard. Which is only 6 months old. I still have a warranty so its a good thing if it is that. I was doing some research this weekend and I know I still need to try and reseat the cards (video & audio) just to make sure. I don't hear any beep codes either. I also have to reset the CMOS jumper yet. And as far as the power supply, Ive got power running so it can't be that right? I tried to put in my boot up disk and nothing happens, also tried to put in my boot up cd and nothing. CD just spins. I have Windows XP. The system was working fine on Wednesday, Thursday was a whole another story. I keep up to date with virus scanners I also have a spyware remover, adware remover and do the regular cleaning that needs to be done. So I know its not a virus or hope its not. I tried checking all the cables too and trying a new power strip etc. I try to boot up and all i hear is fans. It doesn't initialize. Normally I can figure these issues out but I get nothing on my screen it stays blank. So no error messages to lead me to figure out what it is. I unplugged my printer, webcam and all the things that don't have to be plugged in to see if that would help and still nothing. Can anyone give me any input on this? If you need more info I can get it to you. Tomm I will bring all my paperwork about the computer in to post it as well. Lil background.
