Hello.
I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RX550 Desktop PC. I am running Windows XP Profressional W/ Nvidia PCI GeForce FX 5200 Plus.
When I start the computer it loads up, but kicks out when going to Windows. I can the see the loading of Windows, but it just goes black when it should show my desktop. Yesterday, I disconnected my PC and took it downstairs to watch a movie. When I do that I use a video cable to connect to my television. When connected upstairs, it is connected to a monitor. The problem started the first time I powered it up after bringing it back upstairs. If any other info is needed, let me know.

Since you have XP, I'm going to move this to the XP forum for follow ups.

See if you can start to Safe Mode with Command Prompt and do a System Restore from there.
