computer start up

i have an eMachine etower 400i3, used. got it from my cousin.
when i turn it off the main power button wont turn it back on. i have to unplug it , then plug it back in repeatedly, while at the same time pressing the power button, until it comes on. my cousin said that eMachine company told him it was a driver problem. its not that bid of a deal except i pretty much have to leave computer on at all times just to avoid the unplug, plug, unplug thing.

Welcome to TSG Tony. I don't really know what to suggest of a practical nature for this, but I wouldn't believe EMachines about it being a "driver" problem. At that level the problem would seem to be only hardware related. They have a reputation for bad power supplies and that could be it. I wouldn't expect a long life out of it with what you are currently having to do, but I would avoid the procedure you are using as far as possible.

Does the system reboot properly when you go to start>shutdown>restart?

You really need to do that about once a day to cleanup memory and let Windows backup your registry.
yes, it comes back on when i restart. so i guess ill just have to deal with it and do the restart procedure once a day. thank you
