Last week, my computer shut off while I was working on it. The computer wouldn't restart when I tried to turn it on, so I took out the battery and put it back in. The computer restart after this.
This same thing happened again tonight, but after replacing the battery, the system still wouldn't start. I kept the battery out for a good half an hour and tried again but it still wouldn't start. I unplugged the power cord from the back of the computer, and it finally turned on but froze after about thirty seconds, so I plugged the power cord back in, restarted the computer and it finally worked.
Is this a battery problem? How can this be fixed? Thanks!
Here are the specifics of my laptop:
IBM ThinkPad A31 2652xxj
XP Professional
Pentium 4 (512 MB of Ram)
