You haven't provided much information. A Dell what? Laptop? Desktop? If it's a laptop, it's probably shutting down because it's overheating. Why it overheats is a whole other problem (fan not working, vents blocked, dirt/dust, etc.

Same can happen to a desktop if the CPU or power supply cooling fan has stopped working, or is barely turning, or cooling fins are clogged with dust.
