Computer not finding monitors

313 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  plodr
When I turn my computer and monitors on, it seems like the monitors aren't finding a connection to the PC. I've opened it up and cleaned all inside and made sure everything is connected properly. I'm unsure of what could be causing the problem. It takes a good 10-20 tries before the monitor finds a connection and I can log in.

On a side note (not sure if related to the problem) when it loads I have to press F1 that takes me into some sort of safety mode and then I cancel out of it.

Anyone know what I can do?

Many thanks

First of all, you are posting in a hardware forum and no one [other than you] has any idea what hardware you are running. Post ALL of your exact system specs.
Next are you seeing a msg on the monitor "No signal" or similar?
when it loads I have to press F1 that takes me into some sort of safety mode
Is is safe mode or is it Press F1 to enter the setup?
If you see this each time, that is an indication that your CMOS battery needs to be replaced.

As crjdriver has said, post your exact system specs so we can determine the age of the computer and what hardware is inside it.
