My computer that had been on for a few hours suddenly locked up or something. I hadn't used it for 30 minutes and was then going to check something on the internet. The monitor was black, and nothing happened when I pressed keys or moved the mouse.
The led was still shining on the comp though.
So, I restart and nothing... The PSU fan is spinning, the processorfan is spinning and I think the harddrive is working, but theres no startup beep from the motherboard whatsoever. Nothing on the monitor either.
I removed all RAM sticks and then the motherboard made some error beep sound when I tried to start up again.
So I replaced and tried one memorystick at a time, same result, just silence and a black monitor. I tried different slots for the memorysticks...same result.
Whats up? Dead motherboard? All memorysticks dead?
Any help appreciated!

Perhaps this should be posted in the hardware forum, I dunno...

Well you removed the ram and it beeped so i would not think bad mobo,
1.Try a different monitor
2. Try a different video card
3. Try a different power supply

that's what I would be looking at since you already checked the ram.

My first thought would be bad or mis-seated video card. I have had a video card that wasn't quite seated right and the PC would act exactly as you describe. Try reseating the video card and then see what happens. If that doesn't solve the problem try replacing the card with another one.
