Computer frequently freezes when playing games
Hi, ok here's my problem about six months ago i bought my pc, a pakard bell imedia 2426, and it was working mostly fine apart from on the higher spec games it would crash, i would loose all control and have to restart the computer, this didn't bother me much as it was rare, but it has started to occur more often.
I soon relised however that even though it would freeze and i would loose all control, if left for a time that seems to be between 1 minute and 3 minutes (different everytime) it would resume as normal and execute any commands i had given in the frozen time (eg control-alt-delete, or alt F4). I thought this odd but lived with it as it was still only on higher spec games and only occured about once an hour.
However recently its been happening more often and on lower spec games, it is becoming very anoying. Does anyone know what could be causing it?
One more thing, for most games after a freeze no game time has passed, although on an online game (i recently started a trial on lotr online) or any other game played online real time obviously still happens, which makes it virtually impossible to play. It may also be worth mentioning that the sound either stops or loops continually when frozen, although in the case of lotr online the music continues as normal.
