Computer crashes when playing various games

Hello, recently my computer crashes at random when playing certain games, my mother is paticularly upset when it crashes on her, and I would like to somehow solve this problem, I have no idea what information is needed to trouble-shoot this issue, so if someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I would start to believe it was your graphics card dumping the program as it can't handle it...But don't hold me to that.
System specs would be great, adn what game you are playing

That's ok....I did type out a reply before, but I got sidetracked and thought I hit post.
Right have you got the latest graphics card updates?
