Unfortunately im not one for change. As the old saying goes, "If it's not broken, dont try and fix it".
Everything was so simplistic before.Easy to navigate.Everything was right in front of you.
Reminds me of having to buy a new computer,or upgrade to a newer version of windows because
they just couldn't leave well enough alone. It was fine before. Now with each version of windows,
everything seems harder to navigate, more unwanted bloatware....etc. the list goes on.
Maybe im just old fashion? I suppose. Will just have to grit my teeth and bear it.
It is what it is..Will just take some getting use to.
I think, that whilst the new owners of the site, will try their best to tweak little aspects that can be tweaked such as they did for the TA to show on the post in the thread below the Avatar, they are not going to change the general aspects of the software.
So that is why TA`s lost their spam fighting - moderate - delete threads, ban user rights etc.
That I suspect is why our names have disappeared and why follow etc - has changed.
Having different aspects and presentation etc on THIS site, as against for instance Tech Support Forum
is probably not going to happen.
A shame, after Mike, and Karen and others had worked so hard to get it right. Unfortunately the price to pay for change.
IMHO whilst I prefer what we had, providing I do not see the gradual acceptance of bad language (and one opinion differs from another as to what bad is) allowed mentions of hacks and other similar issues - I will put up with the changes as they are at this time.
It just ain't the same. And there's no reason for them to try to make it the same as it was. It's a cookie-cutter site now. It has lost the familiar charm and comfort it once had, and seems more antiseptic, but that's the way it is and we'll need to learn to live with it. Or not ...
