Hi Guys

My hard disk was fell down very light from the table . it was ready to use it as external hard .but the falling was very short hight like 30cm and light on the carpete.then when i did try it .it came click noise and the computer showed error. then i did open the cover of the hard and i did open the other hard the same type to see is somthing lose and compare maybe silly then other hard also got the same click noise , in fact i lost both of them .
IS THERE ANYWAY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OR JUST I LOST BOTH HARDS?

Dropping a hard drive, no matter the height or the surface it lands on, can certainly cause damage. If it's making a clicking sound, and you're receiving an error trying to access it, then I'd say it's almost definitely shot. I don't know see how you could run any diagnostic software on an external drive that can't be accessed by the computer.

As for the other part of your post, are you saying that your primary internal hard drive has also started clicking? Are you receiving errors? Look in Event Viewer for read/write problems.

Physical damage to one hard drive cannot cause physical damage to another in this case. If your primary internal drive is failing shortly after the external drive took a fall, one has nothing to do with the other. It's just a coincidence.

Clicking? its done for. backup asap.
They say damage can occur from a 1" height drop. anything that has to spin at 7200 times a minute (120 times a sec) is going to be very sensitive to any bumps.

LOL no, doubt you will find a guide on opening a hard drive. They are put together in a clean room (something like a laboratory) ext.. not to mention very high tolerances the assembly has to be. the only thing you may be able to change is the little circuit board on the outside, but far as opening it to repair? no.

You always can pay $2000 dollars to have the drive repaired.
Ask me I think $50 for a new one sounds better though.

If you opened the HDA, let me save you some time. Find the nearest trash can and deposit the part of the drive. Go to your favorite computer store and buy a new one.
