My Friend, who I finally got to talk to tonight, says National Guard soldiers and Reservists are treated as second class military!
He had to sleep on the bed of his truck for 3 weeks when he arrived in Iraq before he even got a tent!
The regular Army got air-conditioned barracks. If a "regular Military" soldier's time "ram out" while he/she was there the went home! If anyone in his unit's contract ran out while over there, they couldn't come home until the "whole" unit came home.
This is only the surface of discrimination!
This is unconscionable in my opinion!

More to follow as I learn more this week! Offer your opinions if you feel so inclined!

Nothing ever changes...

When I was in the Army (back in the early 60s), the same attitude prevailed.

So what you are saying is that I shouldn't believe my recruiter?

I don't know of any serviceman who EVER raved about the GREAT living conditions they had.
Now there's a good I support the troops response! ;)

I asked him about the "gear" shortages I heard about. National Guard/Reserve never got "Ballistic vets" (for bullets) the regular Army did.
THe guard got "Flack Jackets" instead.
