Good Morning

We need help! Very difficult to know what you are talking about. I think a reasonable guess is that you now have a SATA drive. Why don't you try explaining what the problem is again.

What the bloody heck is aya? I hope you're not trying to say ata because EIDE and ATA are pretty much the same interface. SATA though, would require you to get an adapter to plug in your IDE hard drive. You can find them on e-bay for little cost.

EIDE and ATA and PATA are used interchangeably - its the same interface.

What you cannot do is to is move an installation of Windows from one computer to another and expect it to work. Due to differences in hardware, Windows rarely boots up correctly in another computer other then the one it was initially installed.

Yogybeer, I wanted to appologize earlier for my comments; I honestly didn't mean anything by them other than to lighten the situation and get the point across that there was a slight glitch in your post that had us all confuzzled.
Again, sorry.

If you move a drive that has XP installed on it to another computer, chances are it won't boot at all or will only boot in safe mode. If you do manage to get it to boot in safe mode, do a repair install (install windows over itself). That will usually (sometimes) install the correct motherboard drivers to allow it to work.

Not exactly, but make sure you have your activation code handy. When you go to select a windows installation, it will give you the option to repair. Choose repair and it will re-install only the system files keeping your main system in tact. Although, you will be required to install all of your windows updates all over again...that's going to be fun.
If that doesn't work, I would say try some of that good ole' HDD repair tools to see if your drive stays visable in a DOS environment instead of just a windows one. If it doesn't, the you've got hardware troubles friend, if it does, then it's more likely something to do with Windows.
