Hi mate...To be honest I never heard of these conroe celerons before. Maybe you are speaking about the new budget Pentium E2xxx series? They are just out from Intel for a week or two, they are replacing the celeron series (which means low pricing) and they are conroes.
But even if a celeron conroe exist go for it and crap the prescott. Don't be fooled by the Mhz, conroes are great performers due to their architecture and as I hear they are great at overclocking too. Check this link:
