What files are you burning on the CD?

Many (most) CD players cannot play MP3 or WMA files, they van play WAV or CDA files.

Older players may not even recognise burned media.

i have tried burning them both from media player and realplayer...
you are correct, they do work on other cd players as i have tried them and they work
however i have been given cds that have been burned by other computers and they work on my cd player so i know something is up...
perhaps i simply need to change the format that i burn in but i do not yet have that know how...
what would be the most common for all cd players?
and how would i go about changing it...
i can not even play a disc that i copy with "Record Now" which copies it from drive to drive directly...
i know i probably sound like a complete nit wit here but im doing my best...
thanks again.

Some CD players are very intolerant of CD-R brand. They were only built to use "pressed" CD's which have a very silvery layer that is very reflective, that is all their laser can work with.

Then it is a matter of trying different brands and burning at the slowest speed possible.

As above only .cda and .wav formats are going to work, not .wmv, .mp3 etc.
