I am getting an error report saying "cannot be found", when I try to use my CDRW drive.
This started after I failed to install a new ASUS A7N8X-E DELUXE Motherboard. I have been informed that I have to format my HD, and re-install Windows XP, to successfull install the Mo'Bo'.

Without access to my CD drive, this is obviously impossible.
I have checkej IDE cable (even replacing it with a new one) but still no change. I have checked BIOS, and the drive is recognized.

Can anyone help.

Welcome to TSG!

If the drive shows in the BIOS, you should be ok. Set the boot sequence in the BIOS to boot from cdrom first and save your changes. Put the xp cd in the drive and boot from it and follow the install instructions. Remeber, if you format, all saved information on the drive will be lost! Back up anything you need first. Some good info can be found here,
