Next, go into the system applet in control panel and go to device manager and delete both items listed under CD-ROM and reboot. The nest thing to do if they are not detected at restart would be to either, go to HP's site if they a\came with the PC or go directly to each manufacturers web site to find them. They should be working with Windows native drivers, but XP has thrown a wrench into theworks with it's new native drivers. If they worked fine with your previous OS XP is your culprit, not the drives themselves.
