Ok, heres the news,
I ledt my computer at my apartment with my girlfriend over christmas. Upon returning the Dvdrom (Generic - JLMS XJ-HD166S) and my HP CD-Writer 9100i series burner(i know its slow, but its stead.), had suddenly vanished.
I checked the drivers and to no surprise they had errors but reinstalling the drivers did nothing. Uninstalling the drivers then reinstalling them also failed, an error with drivers during the installation being blamed. Getting the all types of drivers have yielded nothing, and in at my wits end.
My o/s is xp pro, I attempted to reinstall the windows standard drivers, with no luck. I also grabbed a spare harddrive with xp home, to see if those drive would work, but no luck.
Please assist.
