I am having trouble with an Optiarch DVD RW AD-7640 A drive. The problem is not a driver issue. I have updated the driver and Windows indicated that the driver is problem free and it recognizes the drive. The problem is that the drive simply will only rarely recognize a CD or DVD when inserted. When I click the drive under "Computer" it tells me to insert a CD or DVD.

I have tried to fix this once before by deleting upper and lower registry values, however, while this allows the drive to read CDs and DVDs, it somehow disables the drive from being able to burn CDs and DVDs.

There has to be some kind of fix to this problem. Every time I have posted this question I am referred to answers helping people who's "drive has dissapeared" or their drive "isn't recognized by windows." I will repeat: WINDOWS RECOGNIZES THE DRIVE AND THE DRIVER AND TELLS ME THE DEVICE IS WORKING PROPERLY.

Any help/suggestions appreciated.
