Case overheating

1072 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  bookime wood
I have just installed a Seagate Barracuda 120gb onto my computer and since then the case gets very warm. Also CD's are a bit on the warm side as well after use. Can anyone recommend a good case fan to stop the overheating or anything else that I can do? Also I installed sp 2 and since then my recycle bin icon has changed can anybody tell me how to get the original one back?

Thanks in advance Hughie

Howdy

Cooling the case means you have to get the balance right, to many fans drawing air out and not getting enough cool air in is no good and vice versa, to many in and not enough out is no good either, you need to get the balance right. I won't go into negative air pressure, bit I will suggest, 1 drawing out from the back as long as there is enough vents on your case that will be ok, but I would recommend 2 out from back and 1 in from the front, make sure you get the front fan low as possible in the case, and don't have it blowing over the hot hard drives.
