please help.
camera;- samsung digimax 800k.
second hand with no disc, 2.2mb smart media card.

as ive no disc for this camera, i bought a card reader( plug n play)

card reader has loaded on my pc and shows 4 new drives but does not recognise card when inserted , power light on, no led to confirm card inserted + error message ' plz insert card ' when drive clicked in 'control pannel'
camera shows 8 piccys on card.

is the card or the card reader at fault? or am i missing something?

you should be able to get the driver off the web - if you google search ypu will find lots of sites with driver

I tried sumsang but no luck yet

whats the make model of the card reader

does the card work in the camera OK

Can you see/view the "8 piccys" on the camera lcd?

Can you try the card in another reader ie: friend or printshop... not sure what's available in the UK

this is quite confusing...You added one reader and it shows as 4 drives?

thats normal to see multiple drives - if you have a fourway card reader - it sees each cardreader as a drive

i have found it useful to copy to different cards or read different cards

But.............. very rarely

Some cards require a "powered" hub. If your reader is plugged into a hub with no external power source it might not work. Try plugging the reader directly into the USB on the PC.

etaf, yes.........4 way card reader . i've searched for free software download, but i can't find a site thats free for down load and free subscription ( have no credit cards hence can't sign up, to site , unless anyone knows of one....?

knot bored, yes....... usb conection

buck 52.................... old camera , has no view screne , led function screne shows 8 piccys taken.

mmmn.... still thinking , i might uninstall the reader again and try another reinstall.
