Hi, I had a question about my car antenna. I own a 95 accord with a 6-disc cd changer. I was wondering why my antenna goes up every time I turn on the cd-player. I rather have my antenna down except for when I'm listening to the radio, but I don't know how to fix this.
Maybe and hopefully someone has a solution to my problem. Thanks a lot

There's most likely wire coming from the antenna motor under the hood, which goes to the power lead of the radio. If you want the antenna down, then just put a switch of some sort on the wire between the radio and the antenna.

Some car audio systems power the antenna whenever power is "on" to either the CD or the radio sections (as my last Honda did), some only power the antenna when the radio section is active (as my MX5 does).

The power is derived from inside the radio/cd player, this would require serious and detailed manipulation of the electronic circuitry, its not an external power issue.

In other words it is to do with the internal radio CD design, it differs by brand and model.

Other than putting a manual switch in, probably not a lot you can do.
