Hey Gang,

I recently reinstalled Hitman Contracts on XPsp2. Here is the error message I got:

I never had to get 'permissions" before.

What's going on and how do I fix this?

Delete any directories left over by the past Hitman install.

Then try installing again. If that doesn't work.

Give your self permissions on the C:\program files directory
How do I do that? I go to the directory you specified and I can't find a permissions folder.

It's trying to install the game to your CD drive. Change the install destination when you're running the install to your C: drive.

Hi Wrenchie,

I did change destinations, to D drive. Then I tried it again to my mass storage drive, I. Still the same result

Some games actually aren't capable of installing to a drive other than C, for one reason or another. I'd try that, just to see if it'll work like that.

The only problem I have with that is that Windows 98 is on C drive, XP is on D Drive. Hitman is incompatible with 98.

Ah. Gotcha.

Well, try manually creating the specified directory before starting the install process?

Make a D:\HITMAN directory or somesuch, and use that for the install directory.

You're on XP - is the profile you're logged on to the one with Administrator access?

Go to your Control panel, and then to User Accounts. Make sure the one you're logged in with says "Computer Administrator" under it.
