Please help!
This is an old Pasario 5000 series, Windows Me. All of a sudden one day my monitor went blank, the couldn't reboot kept getting message saying "can not find operating system on any device" I have tried the Quick recovery disks, a back up floppy to try to restart but no luck. I know I am being a little vague, but if you have questions please ask me.

Thank you,
Robert

The Bios never comes up, what would it look like? The main screens that come up either using the Quick recovery disk, or the other recovery disk, are the comment about no operating system, and sometimes I can get to the screen where you can choose to start up in Safe mode, but when I do I get the, "no operating system"
Thank you for replying

The fact that you can get the start up mode selection screen means that the BIOS sees the Hard Drive. The fact that you can go no further makes me think you have a corrupted or failing hard disk drive.

Exactly what happens when you try booting from floppy and the recovery disc?

To get to the BIOS settings, try tapping the F10 Function key as soon as the computer turns on.

EDIT: Took me a day to notice a bad typo
