I have a D-Link DIR-615 router and a LinkSys WUSB600N Wireless-N USB Network Adapter, which up to today have been working perfectly well on my Windows Vista desktop. now all of a sudden, I'm getting this message after connecting to my network: "this computer is connected to the network, but does not have access to the intenet." Device manager shows that the Adapter is working. I also have a laptp that is using the same router/network, without any issues. How do I get access to the internet again? Thank you

Press the Windows key + R to open a Run box.

Type CMD.

Press OK.

In the Command Prompt, type ipconfig /all.

Press Enter.

Copy (right-click and Select All > press Enter) the entire content of that window and paste it into your next reply.

Also make sure your DHCP Client service is Started and Automatic.

To do so, press the Windows key + R to open a Run box.

Type services.msc

Locate the DHCP Client service.

Have you tried a restore -
start> programs>accessories>system tools > system restore > choose a date before the problem

What firewall do you have on the machine - or ever had - norton, mcafee etc

i wanted to see the desktop connection - the laptop wont help but as thats difficult - lets see an xirrus screen shot from the desktop

also on the desktop do a tcp/ip

------------------------------------------------------------------------
{run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector} Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC

http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifitools.php
Direct link to the program is here http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifi_download_redirect.php
Then run and install the program
if you get an error - You need NET Framework installed for the WiFi Inspector to function.

Run the program

post a screen shot of the program running - if there are a lot of networks showing can you click on "networks" top lefthand area - so we can see all the network information, and also post which network "Adapter Name" (1st column) is yours on the list

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file.
To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
