Hi all, when I want to change the way my PC looks I can't do it the way I want. I right click the desktop go to programs, then under the Appearance tab I can only get the looks change by doing it myself, like in 'Windows Classic" I try to change it to "Windows XP Style" but when I click 'OK' or 'apply' the PC freezes. I have to shut off PC with button
The computer use to be okay. I did a clean Install of XP from my XP Home Upgrade CD. I really have NO problems but this one, making me NUTSO!
Any help please??

just out of curiosity, how long do you wait as its frozen before you shut down the comp.?

Hi bobol, I wait for oh I don't know, 5 min, sometimes less but I know it does say "Please Wait" I wait to see if PC is doing anything. Nothing seems to be going on in backround.

hmmm, it sounds odd. . Perhaps it takes longer than 5 mins, I'm not sure-maybe someone here who knows can tell you..... I'd try longer than 5 mins. just to see perhaps. From that point if no success, lets see what others advise next.

check to amke sure your drivers are up to date, go to contorl panel> system

sleect the hardware tab

Click device manager.

are there any conflicts?

Click start, All Programs, Administrative tools and click Services. Scroll down to the service called (theme) and double click on (theme) or right click on (theme) at the properties dialog box make sure it is set to automatic.
