Hi. Can someone please help out? I recently had WMP 11 downloaded and do not like it. I have tried to remove it using the Add/Remove from the control panel but it simply does not roll back to WMP10. I have tried several Google searches to see if I can get some on line help but they have all failed. So I am turning to you guys once again as you have come through for me in the past. Is there a way to eliminate this WMP 11 and go back to WMP 10? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Rick.

Hi Stanley. Thank you for your reply but unfortunately that is one of the search results that I have already tried. It seems every time I get to the remove stage of WMP 11 Runtime a message comes up indicating that rollback cannot take place as components in the package are required..............

Is it possible you can provide any step by step assistance.

Thanks,

Rick.

Hi again Stantley. Thanks for your reply again, but you have me stumped here. I do not know how to restore to a point prior to when I installed WMP 11. I did not know you could even do that. It would be nice to be able to restore some parts of life prior to certain incidents but that would be like the time warp from Star Trek. Thanks again.

Hi again Stantley. The information on the link you referenced, in my opinion, is vague. I suppose that is because I am not a computer expert by any means. The instructions start by indicating to "log on to windows as Administrator." - Is this done in the SAFE MODE? That is the only way I know how to access the "Administrator". Also, step 7 simply states "click O.K." Then what? I am very reluctant to use this System Restore in fear that I may crash my system entirely. I have downloaded a free vervion of Real Player but still prefer the old version of WMP 10. Isn't there any other means to remove the damn WMP11 without having to go through a system restore? PLEASE HELP.

You can do it like that or you can do it if you are a user with Administrative privileges, which you probably are in order to install software.

You're done. Then see what version of WMP you have.

If you have any kind of problem with system restore (and I don't think you will) you can go back into it and undo the restore. Doing a restore is easier than other ways to rollback WMP, which is why I suggested it.
