Cannot uninstall PDF Suite 20

PDF Suite 20 is a free pdf reader app which I downloaded a while ago when I was having problems with my usual Adobe Acrobat Reader app. I don't get on with it, and today have successfully downloaded and installed Adobe Reader onto my Windows10 64bit computer. Reader is so far working properly for me. All I want now is to uninstall Suite 20. I used the taskbar search function to find 20, then right-clicked it to get the menu, and clicked uninstall. That opened the normal Windows Install /Uninstall window with all apps there - well, all except PDF Suite 20! A careful visual check failed to find it. I then used that same window's search facility to find 20. It came back saying no results found for that app - which is correct - I couldn't see it either! Help appreciated please.

Hi PeterOz,
Thank you for replying, much appreciated.
Yes I am trying to completely uninstall PDF Suite 20. I have now tried uninstalling it via the Apps and Features route, but the app is not present in the list.
I have also now tried the uninstaller.exe idea. First, the app is not listed in Program Files(x68) as the webpage states, but it is present in the Program Files folder. However there is no uninstaller.exe file in there. There are several other .exe files - suite.exe; suite-launcher.exe; tray-app.exe and update-service.exe, but not the one I need. The nearest looking possibly useful one is ui-remover.dll. I have not tried clicking on that, but I very much doubt that a .dll is going to do what I need.
Previous experience has taught me to also check in the ProgramData folder, so I did that a minute ago. There is indeed a folder labelled PDF Suite 20, and inside that are just two sub-folders. One is called Packages, (which is empty), but the other, called Installation gave me hope. Nope, no such luck. It contains one folder called logs, (with two .txt files), a .json file (never heard of that file-type, but then I'm not a programmer), called app-config.json. Also in there installer-cache, together with three .x64.msi files. That's the lot.
Next I tried the Uninstall with RUN method. After pasting the string and clicking OK, Windows Installer came back and reported "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." Well that seems to suggest that somehow or other I HAVE managed to get rid of it. but that is contradicted by the presence of the PDF Suite 20 folder in Program Files, including its content of a variety of files, together with the fact that a Notification message from the app popped up on the task bar 20 minutes ago, (can't remember now exactly what it said, but it was a general info message of some sort).
So the only thing left is to try Revo Uninstaller Pro. Having downloaded it I'm now looking at a message saying "The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft=verified app.", with the option to Install anyway. Can I assume it is still safe to proceed?

I've used it with Win-10, as well as Win-11 with no issues, but just the free versions.

However, I'm not sure the paid version will offer anything more than the free version does for what you're trying to do. It offers more features, but it sounds like you're just trying to uninstall one program for the most part.
Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download

Another option might be to press Win + I to open the Settings window, and navigate to Apps > Apps & Features. Scroll down the list and see if PDF Suite 20 is on the list. If so, click it and there should be an option to uninstall.

I am not sure why you went searching for PDF Suite 20 (and then stated that, Quote "I also want to stress there is no PDF Suite 20" Unquote when you failed to find it. I have experienced the problem that I described in my original post after downloading it. My original post could not have been created if the app did not exist. Look at PDF Suite | Read, Create, Edit, Convert and Secure any PDF file! (which took me 30 seconds to find via Google just now). Yes I know it says pdf-suite pro, but I found the free version originally . by asking Google for "free pdf reader for Windows 10". I have just now repeated that search and in seconds it found it, (4th item down from the top), at PDF Suite, convert, edit & secure any PDF file

In any case, all I want help with is to remove/delete the * thing. If you read my reply above you will see that I have tried the kind solutions already offered, but my computer is reporting that the app no longer exists on my system - in spite of a notification popping up (again, and again and even again two minutes ago), bottom from the app that I need to upgrade it now. How I am supposed to upgrade an app that reportedly doesn't exist on my machine, I can't imagine!

Sounds like that's already been tried ...

Your link show PDF Suite; I do not see 20 anywhere.
Here are the previous versions Previous Versions - PDF Suite
as you can see everything has a 4 digit year after it. There is no 20; There are versions 2011 through 2021.
Dear plodr,
From my experience with computers, I well understand the need to be precise/exact when trying to find the cause of an issue in order to attempt to cure it. I'm presuming that it is that need for precision that is behind your efforts to exactly identify the precise title of the software I am having a problem with - hence you stating that from your research so far you cannot find a pdf app whose name ends in "20". As there are so many potential variations in what you are doing when you search, it is not possible for me to even speculate as to why you cannot find "PDF Suite 20". I can only respond by asserting quite definitely that the troublesome software that I am seeking help to remove/delete IS called PDF Suite 20, (ie. there is no typo causing the 20 to be part of the name). By way of evidence, I here attach a screenshot clearly showing that as of 10:25am today, Wednesday 20th December 2023, an app entitled "PDF Suite 20" (Note the "20" on the end of its name!), exists on my computer - I wish it didn't !!

Hi Folks, well the Christmas/New Year break is over, so I'm back trying to solve this issue which is still present. To save everyone's time and effort can I start by saying that I have tried all of the most kind suggestions made in the previous replies above, and none of them worked - hence why I'm back now of course!

So just now I located a folder named PDF Suite 20 in Local Disk (C:) > Program Files. It's Size on disk is 559 MB and it contains 810 Files and 37 folders. The vast majority of the files are .dll ones, but there are also several .exe files.

I have no programming knowledge whatsoever, but in my simple little world of a computer-user for over 30 years I tried right-clicking and deleting the entire folder, but that only resulted in a "Folder In Use" error message saying it couldn't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program. I have no idea what could be using it that I could go and close - I haven't used any PDF-related apps today, but I tried the old "turn off and on again" trick anyway, hoping that might clear it. Nope! Same error message.

Next, I wondered if deleting some of the .exe files would at least stop it popping up that Time to Renew" notification. Possible candidates, (remember, I don't program - so just looking for obvious-sounding names), might be creator-app.exe; creator-ws.exe; suite.exe; or maybe suite-launcher.exe.

Thoughts and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

How to mark a thread solved.

Above your first post in this thread, but below the black bar, on the right-hand side, you will see a "kebab" menu (three vertical dots). Click that and select Edit Thread. You will see a drop down in front of the thread title that says "Prefix". Drop that and "Solved" should be one of your options.

Real simple, huh? Who needs a dedicated button that does this in a single mouse click? ;-)
