Hello! I am running Windows Vista Home Premium, and ever since I have owned this PC the time and date is ALWAYS incorrect. It will not synchronize, and says that there is an error.

I attempted to change the date/time using the command prompt. I am the administrator and only user of this computer, however this error came up:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6000]
Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Users\Owner>date
The current date is: 30/08/2009
Enter the new date: (dd-mm-yy) 23-09-09
A required privilege is not held by the client.
C:\Users\Owner>time
The current time is: 19:17:33.20
Enter the new time: 00:46:00
A required privilege is not held by the client.

Can anyone help me to adjust the date/time? This is highly irritating! Thank you!

You need to run the command prompt as administrator, right click on the cmd icon and select "run as administrator"

No user accounts are administrator accounts in Vista, at least like they were in XP.

You can also edit time by right clicking in the system tray and select "adjust date/time"

Are you using a "Limited" account or a "Admin" account?
