Cannot run RAM at intended speed

Hi, i was wondering if i could get more performance out of my PC by running my RAM sticks at their intended speed.

Ever since I first built my current PC till now I've been running my RAM sticks at 2666 Mhz tho they are rated for 3200 Mhz. I'm using a Ryzen 5 2400G and I've seen that these processors benefit alot from faster RAM . The ram sticks are XMP certified tho when I set them to their corresponding XMP profile in the Bios it won't boot, so I've had to dial them down to 2666 , if I go to 2933 or above it gets unstable and games tend to crash every now and then.

I didn't touch timings or voltages as I'm pretty new to this, and I don't want to mess things up.

The motherboard I'm using is a B450M DS3H , tho I've heard it's not so o.c friendly it should support RAM speeds up to 3200 (o.c).

The RAM im using is a 8 Gb (2x4 Gb) set of 3200 Hyperx Predator.

I've looked the RAM sticks on the motherboard's manufacturer's website and I didn't find them in the supported list, I didn't consider this before buying them, but since my PC has been running fine for over a year with this config i wouldn't consider them incompatible.

Here's some more info, in case it might help:

The motherboard in your computer has 4 DIMM slots and supports up to 128 GB (32 GB x 4) of DDR4 RAM.

Why do you have only 8 GB (4 GB x 2) in it?

You should increase it to at least 16 GB, but preferably to 32 GB.

I don't belive adding more RAM would solve my issue tho,i do intend to upgrade to 16 GB later on,32 would be too much for gaming.

Thank you for the reply tho.
Adding more RAM is better than overclocking a small amount of RAM.

By your own admission, overclocking the RAM in your computer has caused instability and crashing while gaming.

Having more RAM is better than not having enough RAM.

If you feel 16 GB is sufficient, that's fine.

You can always add more later, if needed.
