I cannot install DirectX 9 as it gives an error saying" DirectX did not copy a required file" The last file to be shown copying is mstee.sys. This file does seem to copied OK.
Does anyone know what I should try?

Running XP and trying to install from the net. Tried direct from the net and download the file and then install. I get the same error each way.
Thanks

I read something about missing file errors in Direct X a while ago...can't remember where though...

Not sure if you will understand this...I have to think about it... but it may ring a bell with someone out there and they will and come along and help out...

It was something about unchecking the dxba.inf and dxxp.inf from read only ...as they are by default…then reinstall the Direct X...

Hang in there...someone will know what I'm getting at and will be able to explain...either that or with a better solution...

I looked for the 2 files you mentioned and I found that only dxxp existed but only under "windows\lastgood\inf" it is at 0 kb
Thanks Chalky

I wouldn't know where to go from there...but if you do... and anything works...or if you find another answer... it would be good to know how you fix it...:)

Any answers anyone...:) I'm not sure I got the dxba one right....
