Hi,
I hope you can help me, this seems like a really cool place to ask a question.
I have a laptop with dlink dwlg650 wireless card which is connects wirelessly to my d-link DI624 wireless broadband router. This connects to my zoom x4 broadband modem.
Everything was fine until recently, for seemingly no reason, I started getting "cannot find server" error messages in IE. Not all the time, but it seemed like every 2nd or 3rd page i visited I get "cannot find server". If i click refresh, the page usually loads.
So, basically, I have an internet connection, just not a very good or reliable one.
Often, restarting the router and modem fixes things for a while, but there is obviously something wrong.
I always have network connection, even when having problems with the internet
I have also experimented with using netscape, but have the same problems
For some reason I think it's a DNS problem.
My modem is a modem and router all in one. I have the wireless router for its wireless capabilities.
Which one should be the dns server?
also, currently, the wireless modem is the DHCP server, and dhcp is disabled on the modem
All drivers and firmware are up to date.
Hard resets and uninstall+reinstall drivers ,TCP/IP etc have been tried
Hope you can help
thanks,
Steve
