I would appreciate any help..whatsoever.We have 3 computers in our home.My 2 boys run windows xp ...I run windows 95.All things were running well..until March 27 2004.I had tried to install "tax cut" a program for my income taxes.I am not saying this is the problem though.That night one of my boys tells me he could not connect to the net.The next night it was my computer that would not connect.I have called the service provider ..(high speed cable) ...they have told me its not my modem ....and of course they will not support you if you have a router or the fact I am running windows 95.Last night I went out and bought a new router ...and cables thinking this was the problem.Also last night I run the connection straight from the modem to my computer and was able to get online........but since the new router was not hooked up ..it was just me with the only working comuter.Now this morning ...I try to get online .......and nothing at all ..Again!!This is so frustrating!! Tried turning off the modem ..and restarting ...to no avail.....tried refresh with the ip adress ..nothing works.Internet provider says the modem is fine ..Can anyone help me please?? ..

Hi,

Have you tried hooking the cable modem directly to your sons' computers? If after doing that the internet connection is fine then you will know for sure that it is something going within your operating system and not the modem.
