Hello Everyone!

My Toshiba Satellite A45-S121 crashed (hard drive died) thankfully it was still under warranty and it's coming back home today :D However, it has 256 MB DDR SDRAM and I wanted to upgrade that.

My co-worker told me I needed to get: PC2100 DDR SODIMM (266 MHZ) All that is over my head :p I asked him what if I got PC2700 DDR SODIMM and he said it'll be a waste because my laptop could only go so fast (2100 I'm guessing is somehow tied to speed?) so it will only go up to that certain speed - the thing is, I can find the PC2700 Memory cheaper than PC2100 someplace - so could I get the 2700 or should I stick with 2100 and not put myself into a big mess? LoL

Oh co-worker just said since it's still DDR RAM it shouldn't be a problem? Is he correct?

Ok, here's a dilemma. I went to Newegg and when I go through the Memory Configurator it ends up giving me only 3 choices for Kingston Memory - all PC2700:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...Satellite+A45+Series&name=Kingston+Technology

However, if I go through the options myself:
Home >
Computer Hardware >
Laptops & Accessories >
Laptop Memory >
Kingston Technology

It will bring up 38 choices, on page 2 it shows:
Kingston 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 266 (PC 2100) Laptop Memory Model KVR266SO/1GR - Retail for $53.99
and
Kingston ValueRAM 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 333 (PC 2700) Laptop Memory Model KVR333SO/1GR - Retail for $54.99

Why doesn't the 2nd one (PC2700) appear in the memory configurator for my laptop?

Can someone tell me what is the difference between these two? The difference I see is voltage - what is this voltage for?

I am officially bamboozled!

Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance ;)
