Hi I dont know much about computers. So I was cleaning my old Hp s5000 slim from 2009 and wanted to put a intel core i5-7500 stock fan on it. My question is will it work on my old desktop? The old one is really dirty it is a Genuine HP Pavilion Desktop CPU Fan + Heatsink from 2009 that came with the computer

Are you saying you want to install a heat sink/cooling fan unit on its processor that came from an Intel Core i5-7500 processor from a different computer?

Did you remove the old thermal paste from that Intel Pentium processor and Intel Core i5 heat sink unit and then apply new thermal paste before connecting them together?i forgot to mention I stuck the new cpu fan on and it fits but im afriad to turn it on because i am worried it is under powered and will over heat the old intel Pentium
