Hi,

what is the best DVD burning software that I can use to burn some .avi files into a DVD that can be played on most (if not all) DVD players? I have tried using Ulead DVD MovieFactory and InterVideo WinDVD Creator but most of the time the DVDs played on each can be played on on some DVD player but not the others. eg. burning from Ulead - can play on Toshiba n Sharp players but not BenQ and burning from InterVideo WinDVD Creator can be played on some BenQ players and Sharp but not Toshiba. I really need to be able to play the burn DVDs on all the players.

Help?

Any tips on burning DVDs so that they are mostly player-compliant?

Click on DVD players on the menu on the left side for compatability issues with DVD players, search for the brand and model players you wish to play DVD's on, should let you know what formats and maybe brands to use for optimal compatability.

It isn't as easy as just picking a software package. You need to consider the DVD player, the software, the DVD burner and the media that you are burning to. My older DVD player will not play some things but the new one plays everything I feed it. The software I currently use is Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator. I also have/use Nero 6 and 321 Studios DVD X Copy Express. The media I use is mostly Memorex DVD-R. I have not had much luck with the DVD rewriteable media. I have a new burner but have not installed it yet (LiteOn 8X). I would give a good look at the capabilities of the the reader(s) and the media before "blaming" the software.
