Recently I installed Skype and it installed a toolbar in IE6. Whenever I open up a new IE window it basically crashed explorer.exe and the toolbar disappears and I get the C++ Buffer Overflow message. I also can't open any Microsoft documents (Word, Excel, etc.) from IE. I uninstalled the toolbar but the same problem occurs. I ran things to fix the registry, spybot, adaware and did a virus scan and everything came up clean. On occassion a pop-up window does appear when I open up IE, before any page even loads. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm running Windows XP.
