I am working on a Dell Precision 330 which initially was displaying graphics card issues. It looked like the card might be bad because there were verticle lines in the display whether in Bios setup or Windows. Took the card out put in a new one and everything was fine, put the suspect card into another system and had no problems. Put the suspect card back into 330, no problems. Played around for awhile to make sure that the symptoms didn't come back, they didn't.
While I had the system handy, decided to go out and check for Bios updates, and windows critical updates, Updated the bios from A08 A09 everything still working fine. Installed the two newest critical updates, reboot causes BSOD associated with the Kernal. Can boot into safe mode which would indicate a driver problem, but using msconfig to boot in diagnostic mode produces same DSOD. Boot up to recovery console do a chkdsk /r says it is fixing errors, reboot gives me a new BSOD this one giving me Inaccessible_Boot_Device stop error.
Running chkdsk again does not help.

Anyone have any idea what might be going on?

Thanks
