Also just to add i downloaded 'driver fix' and its identified 16 drivers out of date (i havent upadted any yet).

It lists....

IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers
Monitors
Network Adapters
Software Components (x3 listings)
Sound, Video and Game Controllers (x1 Nvidia Audio Device and x1 Realtek Hi Def)
System Devices (x8 various entries)

When i look at Intel Driver Support for a comparsion it shows everything up to date...

SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION
cause: CNG.SYS
CNG.sys is a Windows file.
https://www.systemlookup.com/Drivers/4161-cng_sys.html

It is best not to rely on driver update software but go to the manufacturers website.
Check Device Manager again and expand all entries, click on the x. If any driver need updating do it from there.
======
You have yet to run a hard drive test - see post #30
Also if you can, run memtest on individual ram sticks.
======
I will check the minidump files and post back what they find first thing in the morning, 22.15 here in the UK.

Thanks,

I checked the sticks last weekend individually. Both came back clear and no issues at all.

I think i tried to start writing the ISO file from SeaTools but it was too big for the USB drive i had.

Only two dump files are different from the ones we have seen before.
IMAGE_NAME: USBXHCI.SYS
https://www.systemlookup.com/Drivers/8366-USBXHCI_SYS.html
In device manager - under Universal Serial Bus Controllers > any ? marks or errors showing?
If yes, you can uninstall [USB Root Hub] as on a restart of the pc Windows will reinstall the USB drivers.
======
IMAGE_NAME: cng.sys
It is a Windows system file. You have already run system file checker [sfc /scannow] did you run chkdsk /r from Command Prompt? If no, run chkdsk /r
======
IMAGE_NAME: bddci.sys
- is back again.
Description: Related to BDDCI filter driver from Bitdefender
https://www.systemlookup.com/Drivers/5066-BdDci_sys.html

I think you said that you have never used Bitdefender Anti-virus program.
In the Search box type bddci.sys.
If it is present on the system, delete it. If it will not delete, rename it bddci.sys.old
=======
Do the following and let us know what you find.
Run a full scan with Malwarebytes again , with Rootkits enabled, did it complete the scan this time. Post the logfile here.
Check system for bddci.sys
Check USB drivers in device manager.
What USB devices do you have connected to the pc?
Run a hard drive test. Post #30
If you haven't already done so, run chkdsk /r

Ran a Chkdsk/R this morning and when i came in this evening it looked like it had finished without issue.

USB devices are my mouse, wifi adapter, keyboard and flightsim joystick.

I looked at the Device Manager USB section and there were no question marks but i uninstalled roothub anyway and then realized doing that would disable my mouse and keyboard inputs so i had to hard reboot and the PC did indeed reinstall the USB hub.

bddci.sys. shows up 3 times at the below addresses when i search for it via the C Drive

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers - Renamed as i couldn't delete
C:\Program Files (x86)\Lavasoft\Web Companion\Service\x64 - DELETED
C:\Program Files (x86) \Lavasoft\Web Companion\Service\win32 - DELETED

Going to run Malwarebytes again now and the harddrive test will have to wait till tomorrow evening when i can look at how to get it on my drive pen.

I also thought let me just look to see if Bitdefender shows up on the C Drive at all and this emerged at..

C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ou8rs2x5.default-release\storage\default

And theres a folder named https+++www.bitdefender.com

And inside that is a metadatav2 file and a folder named 'Is' with a usage file and a SQLITE file???

Sorry 3rd post in quick succession...

So scans were quick, first one started before i could stop it so it flagged 7 items which are now qurantined and then a 2nd scan with rootkits enabled resulted in nothing else found.

Malwarebytes scan results - all of the entries are what are called PUP's - Potentially Unwanted Programs and not necessarily harmful.
======
C:\Program Files (x86) \Lavasoft\Web Companion\Service\win32
Lavasoft is the company that now makes Ad-Aware an anti-virus and adware program - do you remember installing that on your pc?
=====
Run this Bitdefender uninstall tool - Bitdefender has uninstall tools on their website but you would need to know what version of Bitdefender was installed.

If it finds some files - restart your pc to finish the uninstall process.

Let us know the result of the Malwarebytes and a hard drive tests when you have done them.

Lavasoft...No i am pretty certain i havent touched that. I had AVG and that was it for this PC then when that expired and the price went up i decided to switch over to Kaspersky total security and those are the only anti virus things i have and occasionally Malwarebytes for exercises like this now.

I just ran the 2021 exe for removing BitDefender and it was a pretty quick process which requested a system restart as you said.

The Malware scan results are posted in post #48

Hard drive scans ill try do tomorrow night.
