Browsers not able to download "large files"

778 Views 5 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  SilveryWolfe
Whenever I try to download a file that is 5mb or larger, my download speeds are stated to be at ~100kb/s, way worse than stated by Speedtest. After a few minutes, the download cuts off and it states "download failed". I do not know how I can fix this. I am using the latest version of Firefox with Windows 10.

After a few minutes, the download cuts off and it states "download failed". I am currently trying to download WPS Office(130mb) and it is consistently failing. I do not know how I can fix this. I am using the latest version of Firefox with Windows 10. I have tested this in Microsoft Edge as well, the same thing happens and I cannot do anything to solve it. I have tried restarting my system multiple times and updating my computer, but none of the following work.

Do you have a modem and router, or a modem/router combination?

I believe I have a modem/router combo. I don't really seem to see a modem setup in my home, so it might even just be an only router setup.
OK. I did a little bit of research. If the screenshot is correct, your provider is Utah Broadband, which is a fixed wireless internet service. Which internet plan are you paying for? Does this issue happen in 'peak hours'? (i.e. when people are not at work/school)

I have read some reviews and it seems that the service is pretty decent, until more users are online which causes some lagging issues.

How are you connected to the modem/router combination? Wireless or with an Ethernet cable? Does this modem combo have an Ethernet port for you to connect to if you are wireless?

Rebooting the modem combo may not work but let's do that too. Then on your computer, once you have connectivity, try again. If it fails, go to Command Prompt and type the following: ping google.com -n 100 and press enter.

After the results show, please copy and paste here.

1. No, this issue has only happened in the last few days(when I got back from my trip) and has happened no matter what time it is.
2. I am using a wifi adapter to connect to the wifi via my computer. The router does an ethernet port but it is 2-3 rooms away from where my computer is set up. The adapter that I am using is called the NetGear A6210.
3.
