Bridging a router/modem combo

965 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  metallica5456
I have a router/modem combo, but when I go into router settings there is no option to just Bridge mode it. I did some digging around on the internet and found a post that said I could just DMZ my new router through the combo one, should I do this? I don't think I have any other option to go for. (I'm trying to bridge it because I have a new router and it requires a modem).
Combo router: TG588V2
New router: TP-LINK Archer C20i AC750

Just try to run it without bridged mode. If you have issues down the road then you'll have to figure out a way to bridge it.

Bridge isn't ALWAYS needed , it just most of the time makes things "easier" in the long run.

You didn't see ANYTHING about bridge or quick bridge or anything like that in the routers GUI?
