ok, so today I had got some new ram from amazon that was ddr4 which is correct for my pc I took my old ram out put my new ram in then closed my case and plugged my stuff back in and tried to boot but it did not turn on and neither did the button that is supposed to light up on my case when I boot it up the only thing that turns on is my fan in the middle of the case above the motherboard.
Is it the right pins? If it isnt the ports for it might be broke, but if it fit in fine this is most likely not the case.
And did you try using one stick at a time to test? Or you might have gone over the amount of RAM your motherboard can handle, that could be it.
How much ram did you have before and after?
Heres an example. The motherboard has two slots for 8 GB RAM, it wont work right if you try to put 8 GB in one slot, it has to be spread equally in both slots. I hope you can understand this.
I had 8gb before and I upgraded to 16 gb it didn't start so I took the new ram out and added back in the two sticks of ram and it didn't start again. I might judt have to take it to a tech
