Hello there
I Would really love it if someone could tell me how to deal with this problem.
I have split the hard drive and have win 2000 on one partition and Me on the other. Win 2000 goes fine but when i try to boot into Me i get this comment on my screen.
Starting windows Millenium
The following file is missing or corrupt :
D:\windows\ifshlp.sys
The following file is missing or corrupt:
Windows\sustem\vmm32.vxd
Type in the name of the window loader (e.g c:windows\system\vmm32.vxd
This problem only seem to occur when i have tryed to boot into Me with a Cd rom in the computer. After I get this screen thats as far as i can and am unable to use Me windows. I have reloaded Me and then it works fine again until i forget, and leave a cd in.
Could someone please help me with this problem.
Thanks very much
Gregory

Sounds to me like your system is trying to boot from the CD as it is being instructed to do by your BIOS setup. You could go into your system setup during the boot process - ie with no CD in your CD drive! - and change the settings. In your BIOS setup, there will be an item labelled "BOOT SEQUENCE" or similar. This usually reads A, C. Scroll through the options. Modern mother boards should be able to support a boot sequence of A, CD-ROM, C or equivalent. Check your mother board manual for details. I suggest you make the sequence begin A:, C:.

The main suggestion I would make here though us to ALWAYS remember to take floppies and CD's out of all drives before you shut down.
