Booom!

i was using my computer last night, and all the sudden, there was a big flash from behind my computer (thats where my electrical outlet is too) and the computer just died. This morning I tried turning it on again, but its dead! I changed power cords and everything, but still nothing. I have a surge protector (i think...its a memorex "power center"...so im not sure if it counts or works like a surge protector).....is there some way to fix it, or is all hope lost? If you need any more info to help me, just ask and ill do my best

THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

Well that's not too good...it sounds like it's probably the power supply. Unplug everything, and open up the computer, see if it smells.
I almost guarantee that its at least the powersupply. DO NOT TRY TO TURN THE COMPUTER ON! You can try another powersupply and see if the PC boots up. Again do not try the powersupply in another computer. Also check the motherboard for any bubbled Capacitors or leake capacitors.
woot :-\ how does a power supply blow up? yes...the power supply smelled bad...when it exploded...or whatever it did....lovely...lol....new power supply time...woo hoo...
