back again with yet another problem. I guess this is an average of once every two months lol
OK...i hope i explain this right.
i use a paint program called twisted brush.
In the program we have brushes of all sorts. they are called artsets in the program.

When you open each artset, for example trees you will see a whole list of trees along with the icons. Without these icons you would go crazy.
The icons are bmp.s and the files are pre.s

I have downloaded a new version of TB, I have downloaded into a new directory after uninstalling. I have downloaded just the bmp's from the site but nothing is working for me. It seems that each day more are disappearing. But I have done a thorough virus scan over and over and scanned files seperately...nothing. Not even spyware or a malicious file.
At this point I am convinced it is something to do with the BMP. obviously. Also when I go into the directory and check, most of the bmp's are there with the pre's but they just will not show when i open the program.
Is there anyone who is familiar with the program or with Bmp and pre?
Sure hope so as this is driving me insane. (not quite)

Now, after reading another thread in this forum I read about fastStone. I downloaded it and love it. The pictures are so brilliant in color. However none of my bmp's will show. Everything is in a jpeg format. i need to have as many exts. as possible and obviously the bmp. Stumped as to what to do.

Can you compare the size of the BMP and PRE files with the ones in the directory for the old version?

Are the files that are disappearing the ones you have accessed or previewed in some way with the new prog?

There seems to be fairly sizeable forum...?

Hi,
The files would be the same size as nothing had changed other than there were no icons. But in the meantime this is what happened.
One of the people from the forum sent me a bmp. and pre. set files via my personal email and it worked. Go figure. Now the question is why? I have had these user artsets for months and all of a sudden they will not import with all the other files when there is an update. nor could I install them as i would had i recieved them seperatly.

Yes the forum is growing and I have nothing but nice things to say about TB and the author who is there mostly all of the time to answer questions. This one had him stumped.
Another nice thing is that we get updates every two weeks with new artsets, revisions, fixes etc. People are nice and the program is a gem to work with. I only wish he would update the free version to come close to the paid version as the bells and whistles are in that one.
So now back to the why?
Then on to problem 2 which is no D drive or E drive. i'll have to post that somewhere else.
