Hello everyone im new here. i have a major problem. I decided to build a computer for my dad and we ordered everything. Biostar M7NCD-Pro motherboard, AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Barton, 2 sticks of DDR400 PC3200 512MB, a 160gig western digital hard drive, Asus GeForce FX5200 128mb, Utmost DVD+RW, Utmost CD-RW, and WinXP home. The problem is we randomly get a blue screen with this error on it.

I have the same motherboard in my computer. I switched the video card in the comps and still got the screen. I switched the ram, and the CD-RW/DVD+RW drives so im sure its none of those because we still got the blue screen in his comp with those things taken from my comp. Any help would be great this blue screen in really annoying.. Thanks.

How do i know what is causing it, so i can fix it though?

Most likely that error is either faulty memory or video card drivers.

Download Windows mem diag and run it on one stick of Ram at a time. Turn off L1 and L2 cache first.

Check for updated drivers for that video card.

I know all components are new, but still.....

i did memtest with no errors. i have the latest updates for drivers off nvidia. i tryed some ram that was in my computer that works fine, in his.. still blue screen.

Try lowering the RAM speed.

Or could the video card be overheating? If there's a card crowding it, you could move that card one slot down.

i dont see why i need to lower ram speed, i have the same ram and same mobo in this comp and it runs fine. and it is the only card in the comp(no PCI cards) so i dont think its overheating.

Have you tried working the machine with one stick of RAM only?

And lower the RAM speed.....Just as a test.

yeah i did try running with 1 stick.. in every slot. no luck... how do you lower the ram speed?

It will depend on what BIOS the board has. For instance, I have an Award Bios and it could be changed under Frequency/Voltage Control> DRAM Clock (MHz). Shouldn't be hard to find. It will likely be set to Auto. Change it to 333 MHz.

Is this a fresh install of XP home? If so have a look at this If not are the two DIMMs SPD's matched? Nforce chipsets are very finicky about MEMORY the memory you have may check out fine, however alternity refreshing two DIMMs over and over again will always turn up the smallest of inconsistencies such as a unfamiluar Date Stamp

This is a brand new computer, so yes i did do a fresh install of XP Home. I also tryed the ram in many different slots and combinations. I put them just like i have the ram in my computer(same motherboard) and still got the blue screen. I actually had to reinstall XP a couple times just to get it to boot up correctly. And another thing, when i put the warpspeeder(hardware monitor) program that came with my motherboard it gives me the blue screen right away on startup and i have to go in safe mode to delete it. i have this program on my computer and it works fine.

i just got the motherboard back, put in in my comp, started up, and bingo, another blue screen.. this time it was a 0x000000E3
i really dont know what the problem is, that would be awesome if someone could help me.

well tryed a system restore. now the dang thing wont even start windows..... screw computers..
