Black screen after putting laptop to sleep

Every time my laptop goes to sleep and I open it, the fan runs and the power light is on, but the screen is black. I then have to fully power it off and reboot it for the screen to turn on. This only happens if I close the laptop or if it is asleep for more than a few minutes. My computer is brand new, SGIN brand, and I first noticed this problem the day I got it.

From what I can determine, the SGIN laptop is a very weak low cost model laptop.
If you just purchased it brand new and are having issues with it, you should return it.
Messing around with it could void its warranty.
