Ok, headache of the week.
My friends pc crashed, She, kind person that she is, drops it off to me to figure it out. Ha, I thought.
Here's the problem, Pc won't get past boot up screen, I can get into Bios to try to get it to boot to cd, re-install and format is my choice without spending days troubleshooting.
In the settings it asks for password, pc is 7 yrs old, she can't remember the password, she doesn't even remember putting one in, she never does.
Would like to reset mobo to factory specs, went to mobo manufacturers web, can not find this one listed anywhere.
First of all would resetting to default kill this password, then I can at least boot from cd?
Is there an alternative?
Need a push in the right direction.
